For those of you that don’t know, Mike started in an animal shelter in San Jose at the young age of 13, MIke has been involved with dogs or all shapes, sizes, and problems for years. He then got into sportwork, which evolved into protection dogs, and Primal Canine was born. ⁣

The guys sit down and talk with Mike about his partnership with with Ray Allen, honing the essential equipment you’re familiar with today (and creating new equipment to meet the ever evolving needs of training!) ⁣

We get into his Professional Protection Dog Sport, K9 Street League. They host seminars, trials, and you can watch it live online! They are doing amazing working donating to troubled youth foundations! ⁣

The biggest reason MIke joined us for this episode is “The Fight.” Mike has made it his mission to donate money and dogs to the Glory House in Miami, so that survivors of human and sex trafficking can be protected by dogs. Eloise has quite the history; as a Brit, she was in the British forces, she worked as a door to door salesperson, and as a fire fighter. She then came to the USA and focused on Accelerant Detection Canines before getting into some badass decoy work and meeting Eric and Ted at HRD. (Ted believes Eloise has decoyed more dogs than most people will ever deal with!) The trio talk about how female decoys excel with muzzle work, and get into Eloise’s work teaching at decoy camps.

Eric talks about how pet dogs make you a better trainer, and segue into Eloise’s Pet/Working Dog company, Lifeline Training & Boarding in Tennessee, as well as training protection dogs and her contract work in Barbados.⁣

This is our third episode from our Hold the Line Conference Series, and just like our previous guest, Instructor Sgt. Kenny Williams instructs with Street Cop Training. Williams is one of the country’s leading experts in criminal vehicle interdiction. Additionally, he is a fully certified EPIC and DIAP instructor. Williams began his career in 2007, and currently works as a full-time K9 interdiction officer. Over his career, he has worked with 2 single purpose dogs, and has been personally responsible for the seizure of over 6 million dollars in cash, several hundred pounds of illicit narcotics, and well over a ton of marijuana. Williams has received countless awards for his work from numerous organizations and has established a national reputation.⁣

He was teaching his Interdiction Mastermind class at the Hold the Line K9 conference. His course was intended to give police officers a clear understanding of what it means to be an effective criminal interdiction officer. Williams broke down, piece by piece, the tactics and mindset utilized by proactive police officers. He covered the importance of vehicle selection for a pre-textual stop, and went through how and why he chooses specific vehicles. Having this knowledge can save countless hours of trial and error. His course, “Interdiction Mastermind,” also covered why criminals join criminal enterprises, common drug routes, body language, deceptive behavior, and common-sense approaches to understanding reasonable suspicion.
